Mentoring Program
PMI PPRC continues a Mentoring Program to provide a platform for Project Professional seeking mentorship in project management and leadership.
Jason “Cueball” Simmons, Director of Mentorship, is the primary contact. Here is a brief explanation about our program:
- The Mentoring program is a volunteer effort for PMI-PPRC members and non-members:
- Participants can be a Mentor, Mentee, or Both.
- A Mentor will only be assigned up to two Mentees.
- The goal is to match Mentees which need PM knowledge with Mentors that have PM knowledge in specific areas. While Mentoring can be a variety of things, the focus of this program is on the Professional Growth area.
- The program is intended to be a small project with a 6-month timeframe;
- Meetings should be once or twice a month, with the first meeting being about 60 minutes and following meetings being about 30 minutes.
- Mentoring Meetings can be a telecon, video collaboration, or in-person -- we recommend the first meeting be in-person.
- The communication and learning methods are to be agreed upon between Mentor and Mentee.
- The Mentee is the driver of the relationship -- meaning that the Mentee needs to have initiative to set the meetings and perform the exercises provided by the Mentor. In the case that a Mentor does not contact the Mentee, please contact me.
- Areas of Focus can include:
- Coaching
- Challenging
- Sounding Board
- Leadership
- Career Advancement
- Transitioning to a New Career
If you are interested in joining the program as either a Mentee, Mentor, or Both, please click on the Join Program button above or below, complete the form, and click on Submit.
The PMI PPRC - Mentoring Program Form will be used to match you to a Mentor or Mentee, as it contains information about you, your experience and what you are looking for in a mentor and/or what you can offer as a mentor. We will work to find you a mentor as soon as possible.
I look forward to hearing from you and let me know if you have any questions about the program.
In Service,
- Cueball
