2023 Volunteer of the Year

Pikes Peak Regional Chapter Volunteer of the Year 2023

It is our honor and pleasure to announce the Pikes Peak Regional Chapter’s Volunteer of the Year for 2023:

Jennifer M. Meyers, MSPM, PMP, ICF-ACC

Director of Membership and Co-Director of Women in Leadership is our PPRC Volunteer of the Year 2023!

Jen has taken initiative multiple times, whenever there is a need, she steps up and knocks it out of the park. She started volunteering as a mentor, then became the director of membership and even stepped in as the VP when Greg John needed to be out indefinitely. When we had need for new leadership in Women In Leadership, she again raised her hand and said yes, let's do this and brought her mentee along for the ride. She is such an asset to the chapter and volunteers with a smile on her face and always looks for the upside even when the odds look like they're against her.

Honorable mentions for their countless hours of service: Director of Communications: Meghan Lucero; Military Outreach Committee Volunteer: Katrina Lusk and VP of Operations: Gayl Hahn.

We are grateful for all our volunteers who give their time and expertise to our chapter membership!

Please join me in congratulating Jen, Meghan, Katrina & Gayl!

Have you thought about volunteering? It has it’s perks! Free PDU’s, tons of networking, learning new skills, and giving back.

Gayl Hann
VP of Operations

In the short amount of time that Gayl has been VP of Operations, she has worked hard to come up with multiple solutions to improve audio and video for online meetings. Her continuous improvement efforts are tremendous; she has created SOPs and checklists so others in her position in the future will have clear direction and understanding. She is a real team player, working with every board member to create an overall good experience for our PPRC membership online and in person.

Meghan Lucero
Director of Communications

Meghan has been preparing and sending out the monthly chapter newsletter since last fall. She worked through the newsletter options in our chapter software, which is a non-intuitive and difficult tool. Then, when we started using Constant Contact in 2023, she took it over and has been flying nearly solo ever since. Her attention to detail and timeliness has allowed her VP to focus on other areas, while delivering informative and creative newsletters to our PPRC members.

Katrina Lusk
Military Outreach Committee Volunteer

As an integral volunteer in the Military Outreach Committee (MOC), Katrina personally mentored over 20 aspiring PMP candidates and helped translate their military experience into meaningful civilian terminology which aided in the acceptance of all of their applications. Katrina also integrated a new participant tracking program for the MOC; greatly improving the ability to track application workshop attendees, enabling an easier sign-up process, and an efficient follow up mechanism with attendees. Katrina's dedication as a Volunteer, her PM expertise, and support to the community is an exemplary example of PPRC Volunteers.
