Chapter History
The Project Management Institute (PMI) Pikes Peak Regional, Colorado Chapter (PPRC) is based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. PMIPPRC was chartered in 1997 as PMI’s 102nd chapter.
The original founders worked for MCI and decided, rather than driving to Denver for PMI events, to establish a local chapter in Colorado Springs. The chapter initially focused on supporting the telecommunications industry, but quickly expanded to the many industries, military branches, and government agencies embracing project management. In the ensuing years the chapter grew to over 1,000 members, located across the Southern half of Colorado, with some members located around the world.
