Many Hands Make Light Work - June 2022

Are you interested in volunteering but don’t want to “commit" to hours upon hours?
We get it… the entire Pike Peak Regional Chapter is driven by volunteers; all whom have full time jobs, families and hobbies. We have learned how to balance and share the work!
We welcome volunteers who may have an hour here or there; maybe to shadow one of the “directors” to get a sense of what is really involved and what time commitment is required.
There is an old English proverb which dates all the way back to the 1300s:
“Many Hands Make Light Work”
Even a difficult task becomes easy if enough people help complete it.
So do you have an hour?
Perhaps you want to see how the live streaming chapter meetings work to understand the need for a “host” (you’re probably going to be at the meeting anyway right?) Robert Dunn, VP of Operations is in need of a “few good hosts”.
What’s involved with managing our Chapter Finances? Denise Nieland, our VP of Finance would love to share what this entails and get some assistance once in a while.
PPRC has one of the most active and effective Military Outreach Programs (MOC); I know Greg John, the Director of this program is always looking for ‘liaisons” to assist our heroes.
Our Members are generous! Please consider a “donation” of an hour or so of your time to learn how we keep programing moving forward for our Project Management Community and where you might help!

Successful MOC Application Workshop
PMI Pikes Peak Regional, Colorado Chapter Military Outreach Committee (MOC) conducted its PM application workshop on June 18th at wonderful Mt Carmel. The PPRC MOC assists #transitioningmilitary, #veterans, and #militaryspouses with their PMI certification applications.

Greg John and the MOC volunteers delivered the workshop to over 20 folks in-person and over 15 folks online. We also hosted PMI chapter leaders from Los Angeles and Atlanta to share the model and lessons learned.
Thanks to our #colorado partners at #o2o, Hiring Our Heroes, Pikes Peak Workforce Center, Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center and ACI Learning who all help veterans and families!

"Just wanted to follow up and say thank you again, my application was just accepted! I really appreciate the guidance and support you provided." - Kiana
Kiana recently attended a Military Outreach Committee (MOC) Application Workshop. After serving in the military, finding the correct verbiage to translate all duties into PMP terms, objectives, and project descriptions proved challenging.
PPRC's MOC Team assisted with perfecting the language and after submission, Kiana quickly received an approved PMP application.
Are you a military member, veteran, or military spouse? Reach out to our MOC team to see if you qualify for our next workshop in September!
