Session 1 (1 Technical PDU):

Supercharging Your Improvement Projects Using Change Management
My name is Gary Vansuch, and I invite you to participate on January 9 for a conversation about using change management to "supercharge" the improvement projects you are working on. We all want to see improvement to the working cultures of our organizations, so that we can serve our customers well, and enjoy our work at the same time. I know that I want that for my organization, and I want that for the places where my family and friends work, too.

To achieve that, we launch projects to improve how we produce products and services.  In my experience, sometimes those efforts go well, and sometimes .... well, sometimes they don't. Over my career, I have discovered that an element that is often missing is change management, the people side of improvement. I will be sharing some tools and approaches to help you to integrate change management into your improvement projects, which will lead to more success for all of us. I invite you to join us for that conversation!

Bio:  GARY VANSUCH is Director of Process Improvement for the Colorado Department of Transportation (also known as "CDOT"). As a member of the CDOT top executive team, Gary directs efforts to improve the organization’s operations and to make government more effective, efficient and elegant. He has over 30 years of business improvement and change leadership experience in the energy, financial services and governmental services sectors.

Gary is a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and a Certified Change Management Practitioner.  Additionally, Gary served 6 years with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award program, including 4 years as a Senior Examiner and as a member of the national Case Study Development Team. He has also been a Judge for ASQ’s International Team Excellence Awards, and a Judge for the RIT / USA Quality Cup competition for improvement teams.
