Session 1 (1 Strategy PDU):

Strategies for the Agile Leader

Apply strategies developed by General Stanley McChrystal to your own personal leadership philosophy

Jim will weave stories from Stanley McChrystal's Team of Teams with current leadership perceptions and practical research findings regarding corporate agility and effectiveness. He will demonstrate a structured process for the development of a Personal Leadership Philosophy based on military strategy, current business trends, and one's individual style leading to a unique and authentic leadership path.

Speaker Bio:  Jim Emerick is the founder and president of profit-with-purpose Choinqueâ (pronounced "choynk") LLC, an international network of organizations in relentless pursuit of the good and best within themselves, and even more so, in others. He passionately supports Autism Speaks, ZooTampa at Lowry Park, and other great causes worldwide. He is an Academy Leadership Master Facilitator and has offered courses and invited talks in the United States, Canada, UK, Germany, Spain, Peru, Chile and Australia. He is rather active on Twitter under the username @choinque, and hosts a weekly podcast appropriately named the choinquecast.

Jim has been a technology entrepreneur for three decades within the government, small & large businesses. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Jim served as a program manager developing and integrating next generation spacecraft computers into over fifty platforms including the Cassini-Huygens probe. In 1992, he co-founded and led innovative systems & technologies corporation, here in Tampa, pioneering three generations of radio frequency system-on-chip integrated circuits with diverse teams in the United States, Scotland and Canada, selling the company in 2006.  Afterward he served as Vice-President Advanced Technologies at ITT, developing and delivering breakthrough communications platforms. Since 2011, over 1,000 professionals have attended his leadership courses, and he has read and reviewed over 100 books on leadership.

Session 2 (1 Leadership PDU):

Leadership Toolbox for the Project Manager

Learn three practical leadership tools which will immediately increase your influence and effectiveness

Jim Emerick will facilitate three interactive leadership exercises, each building on the other, that address common misperceptions made by managers and leaders. First, the myth of effective multitasking will be exposed with attendees working in pairs; second, an improved method for vastly improving accountability will be shared; and lastly, the audience will practice the new skills by role-playing in pairs. After each exercise, teams will share lessons learned, and journaling will be encouraged at the end of the workshops.
