Overview:

This three-day course is designed for persons who have on the job experience performing project management tasks, who want to increase their planning and scheduling skills. During this course, you will learn to apply a formalized and standards-based approach to project management, and will have the training foundation to apply for the Project Management Institute, Inc. PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) Certification.

Note: You do not need to have a Project Manager job title or formal project management training to take and benefit from this course. Further, there is no prerequisite certification required for the PMI-SP.

According to PMI, “Projects and teams today are increasingly global and virtual, and project schedules are key to managing activities, resources, dependencies and ultimately, project outcomes. The PMI-SP® will recognize your knowledge and skill to drive the improved management of project schedules.”

 

Course Objectives: 

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Describe project management fundamentals.
  • Identify project management processes.
  • Describe how projects are initiated.
  • Identify the scheduling essentials.
  • Define and sequence activities.
  • Estimate activity resources and duration.
  • Develop a project schedule.
  • Maintain and control schedules.
  • Identify the basic principles of managing project risks and behavior in scheduling.

Brian Purcell, PMP, MCTS, ITILv3 and President of Xlander Consulting Inc.

 

Brian Purcell, PMP, MCTS, ITILv3 is President of Xlander Consulting Inc., an REP based in Colorado Springs.

For the past 20 years Mr. Purcell has been involved in all aspects of project management. He has successfully managed projects for fortune 500 companies spanning the Aerospace, Defense, Information Technology and Telecommunications industries. Currently Mr. Purcell is president of Xlander Consulting Inc., a project management training and consulting firm based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1985 and later received his Masters of Business Administration, in 2003 from the University of Dallas.

Refund and Cancellation Policy:

 

This training course may be cancelled or rescheduled under the following circumstances: (A) In the case of accident, illness or any other Act of God that prevents the program facilitator from being present or the venue to not be available. (B) The minimum number of registrations (5) has not been reached by midnight on August 8, 2017.
